Ok, so I'm interested to throw out the debate as to the benefits and the pitfalls in regards to having just an ipod playing music at a wedding.

Please share your opinion..

I think just having an i pod is fine! But then again i'm not having a big wedding, so those having a big wedding might want to use a Dj as they announce what is happening throughout the night with first dance and all that stuff? I'm not really sure what they do! ha...

I am having 3 songs played on i pod during ceremony and then WISE winery have told me i can give them CD's or my i pod to play at the Restuarant for our dinner. ( as we don't have exclusive use of restuarant ), other customers will have to put up with what music we choose

An iPod is fine if your wedding is small and you haven't booked out exclusive use of the venue.

The downside of an iPod is that they do not have the ability to read the crowd and decide what direction the music needs to take next, or stay in!

Thats the difference between playing songs that everybody knows and may dance to, to playing music that will have the dance floor pumping all night!

We are having an Ipod for the ceremony, simply because its easy to set up into files for each part of the ceremony, and set up and dismantle.

For Reception, we have booked a DJ.. we are going to send out song request cards with our invites and RSVPs so our guests can help to choose the music for the evening
