Celeste and Corey - Interview with the Bride
| How long did you give yourself to plan your wedding? Corey proposed in July 2009. We married in April 2010. So just over 8 months to plan the wedding - proving that things can come together in a short time. What was the theme of your wedding? While planning the wedding we didn't really have a 'theme' as such..... we were instead finding items that we could have personalised (for example our unity candles) to fit our colour scheme 'purple & green' like the beautiful grapevines in Margaret River. Where did you draw inspiration from to plan your wedding? The colour scheme was inspired by the grapes - purple and green.... We wanted our day to feel intimate (despite our large guest list!) and personalised hence the touches on the cake, bouquet charm, unity candles. Please tell me about your wedding dress? My Wedding dress was an off-white strapless, mermaid style royal satin dress embellished with Chantilly lace and crystals across the rouching on the bodice. "Style 1856 Made by Atelier Diagonal - Pronovias. (from Spain)" I'd tried it on in a bridal shop in Perth and was a little turned off by the price, so one of my girlfriends mentioned she had bought her dress online from www.bridalgown.net and saved over $1000.... so I took a look and found it was available online for less than half of what the Bridal shop had asked for. (Bonus!) The best moment of your wedding day? Our First Kiss as husband & wife. Funniest moment of your wedding day? The 'fight' that erupted over the bouquet toss - single gals can be so competitive!! In the end there wasn't much left of it! Details of your's and your bridal parties bouquet's? 'Chantilly' Roses -with personalised bouquet charm handmade by Etsy seller: Cherrycreek Why did you choose St Thomas church as your wedding ceremony venue and Watershed Winery as your Reception venue? We chose St Thomas More Catholic Church as Corey and I were both raised as Catholics. We LOVED the feel of the church with its rammed earth walls and earthy wooden interior. It was the perfect church for us - giving that earthy natural Margaret River feel. The priest, Father Pierangelo was fantastic and really made such an effort to personalise our ceremony. Watershed Wines we'd eaten in the restaurant before and loved the food and were so mesmerised by the view and the interior of the restaurant. When enquiring around for a reception venue, they had just had a cancellation on the date that we wanted, so we thought it was just meant to be! The staff at the restaurant was fantastic and nothing was a problem to accommodate us and our many guests! (We had over 150 of them!) I saw a celloist playing in the church, when did this person play and what was your entrance song? Baroque & Roll (a local string duo from Margaret River), they played before during and at the conclusion of our wedding ceremony. Our entrance song was Pachelbel's Canon in D. Who was apart of your bridal party? Our son Jayden was our pageboy. A close friends little girl was our flowergirl. My sister was my maid of honour and 3 of my closest girlfriends were my beautiful bridesmaids. The groomsmen consisted of Corey's brother and 3 of his best mates he'd grown up with. What was your bridal waltz song? Michael Buble - The Way You Look Tonight What was your wedding cake made off? Three tiered square wedding cake made by Nicole Kane from Wedding Cakes by Nicole located Bunbury. Each tier was a different flavour - mainly because Nicole has such a delicious variety of flavours to choose from we simply couldn't decide!! (In the end we decided on Marble Mud, White Chocolate & Raspberry and caramel mudcake) The flower splays were provided from our florist and the polymer cake topper was custom made from Etsy seller: 'lynneslittlecreations' (http://www.etsy.com/) I loved the table runners where did you get this material from? The table runners were created out of a large ream of wrapping paper (unusual, I know but in the end it had the desired effect!), which was then cut to fit the tables - This was from (www.wrapco.com.au) I'd seen paper table runners in Bridal Magazines and on websites but at an average $3/m (and we required over 150m...!) I decided to 'shop' around found wrapco..... They're great! I noticed on your tables instead of favors you made a donation to the Leukemia Foundation? Tragically Corey's mother lost her battle with Leukaemia in Corey's first year of life - so as a way of honoring her and involving her memory into our day we decided to make a donation to the Leukaemia Foundation on behalf of our guests in lieu of traditional favors. We also had a photobooth (The Booth) present so our guests were not left empty-handed - This was supplied by Pixel Magix from Bunbury. Finally, your overall experience with Absolute & Alive Photography why you choose Peter to be your photographer for your wedding day? Peter from Absolute & Alive Photography was fantastic - he was just so enthusiastic at every meeting and really stepped things up on the day! I had met him at the Margaret River Wedding Expo and was really impressed by his work and positive attitude! He was so professional and calm on the day and we are so thrilled with our images for our album. How do you feel now that you are married, does it change the relationship between you and your husband? Married life is so nice it’s almost indescribable! Our relationship hasn't changed, but I'd describe it as a combination of a deeper level of love, comfort, commitment and intimacy. When you look back at your wedding day, what would you have changed? Absolutely nothing - it was truly memorable from beginning to end. Words of Wisdom for other planning brides: Obviously it’s the dream of many girls to plan their ideal wedding day - and a lot of people will have their opinions on what you should and shouldn't do.... Do your research to create the kind of day that is both intimate and personalised, while still staying within your budget. Keep in mind that your wedding day will be a special and beautiful day for everyone involved, but more importantly it’s also the beginning of your life together as husband and wife. |
