Cassie and Daryl - Interview with the Bride

What was the theme and colour scheme for your wedding?
Black and White.

Where did you get inspiration for ideas for your wedding?
I had an idea of what I wanted and Googled it, and come up with exactly what I wanted from pictures.

At one stage you were having the big wedding and then all of a sudden this changed why?
We decided it wasn't for us. We were having too many problems with family so we decided to do it small and have a party later on.

What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
I dont think there was a hard part. We had plenty of time to plan so we just took one job at a time.

How many guests did you have at your wedding?
We had 20 guests.

Details about your dress and attire –
I had my dress made by Bridal Elements. The top half is all lace and the bottom is quiet big! I got my shoes from shoebedoo! I had a pair of flats which I wore most of the day and a pair of heels.
I got my earings from Inkas. My hairpiece I borrowed from my sister, she used it in her wedding.

When did you start looking for your wedding dress?
About a year before the wedding. I only went to the one place and had it designed.

Who was in your bridal party?
Matron of honour- Tara (My sister) Bridesmaid- Breanna. Best Man- Mark and Groomsmen Jacob.

What flowers did you carry?
Antheriums. I thought they were unique and no one else I know has had them!

Tell me about the running of the day what time did you start preparing etc?
I got up at about 6am. Hair started at 8am. Them make up. Our photographer got there about 11am. Everything went really smoothly, No stress surprisingly! The ceremony was at 3pm and dinner at 6.30pm. We werent late to anything! We were early to the ceremony and I had to wait in the car for about 15 minutes! It was such a great day!

Describe what happened at your ceremony?
My dad walked me down the aisle as my brother in law Brad sang "Love you till the end" and played the guitar.
During the ceremony we had a wine Ceremony. It was hallarious! As by this stage Darryl was extremely hot and thirsty and just skulled the wine! We wrote our own vows.

What did your guests do after your ceremony while you and Daryl went off and had wedding photos?
Most of our guests went back to our house and had a drink. Others went back to mum and dads and some went to the pub.

Were did you go for wedding photos?
Around Castle Rock and Wise Winery.

Why did you choose The Equinox as your wedding venue?
Because it is a beautiful resturant. It also has the small room at the back which was a perfect size for the  amount of guests we had! They had excellent food too!

What happened at your reception?
We had speeches, but they didn't go too long. But we didn't have any dancing or anything like that.

What food was served at the reception?
There was a choice of mains.
Scotch fillet
Parmesan mash, steamed broccolini, red wine jus
Mount Barker Chicken breast
Baked, herb and pistachio crumbed, bush tucker stuffing, blueberry and lime butter sauce,
sweet potato mash and wild rocket salad
Barramundi
Grilled, brandade (garlic mash) rosella hollandaise, Steamed asparagus
Mild spring vegetable korma
Pilaf rice, saffron raita, pappadums & cashew nut salad

Best moment of your wedding day?
Would have to be the kiss after being announced married! Its just so meaningful! But I have to say our day was perfect to us! So the whole thing! I don't think there was a bad part all day!

Describe the look and flavor of your cake, plus any other desserts that were serve:
We had a two tier cake. On the 1st tier it was white mudcake, with white ganash. The second tier was chocolate mud cake with chocolate icing! It was absolutly fantastic! The Equinox served it with cream.

What were the bombonieres for your guests?
I got little boxes and some black and white chocolate hearts, which I put in the boxes with a little message. Then I tied a bow of ribbon around it.

How do you feel now that your wedding is over?
Well, its not really over just yet! As this weekend we are having the party! But I'm a bit sad as we had to say goodbye to family that came over for it. But I'm glad it's over in a sense that there is no more stress about planning it!

Were did you honeymoon?
We havent had a honeymoon YET! We are hoping to have one this year. We are thinking of heading to Bali. I hope this happens!

Advice for other planning brides?
Don't stress the small stuff. And enjoy it! Be relaxed, and have fun!

When you look back what would you have done differently on your wedding day?
We would have had a videographer. We had the opportunity but I said no. Then my dad got sick so I now I really wish we did. But other than that I think our day was fantastic!
