Trish and Tim - Interview with the Bride

I saw that you had a pre-wedding photo session - Why?
To get to know Cyrus and his photography style.

Did you marry to the day on your five year anniversary?
Yes.

What was the theme and colour scheme for your wedding?
Purple, silver & black (my fav colours).

Where did you get inspiration for your wedding?
We knew what we wanted and we just had an awesome group of people that brought our dreams to life.

What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
Organizing the bridal party.

Did you have a wedding budget and did you stick to it?
Not really, I was told I had to be realistic but still have what we wanted as we are only doing it once.

What was the one thing you weren’t going to comprise on for your wedding?
Mostly the venue.

How many guests did you have at your wedding?
52.

Details about your wedding dress and attire:
My dress was a strapless a-lign by australian designer Angeline with alot of beading detail, my veil was a simple 2 tier with matching beading along the edge, my jewelry was a gift from my mum.

When did you start looking for your wedding dress?
About a month after the engagement.

How did you feel the moment you put on your wedding dress?
I felt all tingely and like a princess, I knew instantly it was the one.

What flowers did you carry?
A tear drop bouquet of oriental lilliums and orchids.

Tell me about the running of the day what time did you start preparing etc?
The girls and I arrived at the Manor at 10.30am to start getting hair and make up done, we were even ready early. The ceremony started at 3.30pm and from there the evening flowed.

How did your Dad feel on the day of your wedding and presenting you to Tim?
I think he was proud cause he thinks the world of Tim and he was a little emotional cause in his speech he said that his little girl was all grown up.

Describe what happened at your ceremony and what time was your ceremony?
At 3.30pm my dad walked me down the aisle and gave me away, Jay our celebrant went through a few ''legal'' things and then Tim and I exchanged vows we had written to each other, then we signed our wedding certificate. We wanted to make all parents involved so we also did a rose exchange, Tim and I had a white rose each which Jay explained what they meant and then I gave mine to Robyn (Tim's mum) and Tim gave his to my mum, Helen, just as a sort of welcome to the family thing and then we were announced and had group photos.

What did your guests do after your ceremony while you and Tim went off and had wedding photos?
As we were at the same venue they didn't have to go anywhere, they we able to have drinks from the bar and mingle.

Why did you choose Peel Manor House as your wedding venue?
It was an all in one venue so that both us and our guests didn't have to go to different places and they could also have somewhere to stay the night so they could enjoy themselves.  You just have to meet the guys and walk around the grounds, you just fall in love it is a gorgeous venue and private.

What happened at your reception - any funny stories?
In my dads speach he told everyone that I stole things when I was a child (which I don't remember or believe) but he said that I stole things because I liked the person and that it would mean that we would have to go back to visit them again to return what I stole. Also Robyn and David (Tim's parents) surprised us (well me as Tim knew all along) with a surprise honeymoon to bali for 7 days it was fabulous.

What food was served at the reception?
We had a buffet of salads, cold meat selection, roast beef and vegies and lemon pepper snapper.

What was your bridal waltz song?
Grow Old With You by Adam Sandler (the version from the Wedding Singer)

Best moment of your wedding day?
For Tim he said that the best moment was seeing me walk out. For me I think it would be walking out and seeing Tim and everyone there.

Describe the look and flavor of your cake, plus any other desserts that were served?
We had individual chocolate mudcake cupcakes wrapped with black and silver ribbon with the top tier also with black, silver and purple ribbon and the topper, a bride (me) dragging a groom (Tim) by the scruff of the neck. We also had chocolate mousse and fruit salad for dessert.

Did you make anything for your wedding?
Yes, I made all of the wedding invitations by hand.

What were the bombonieres for your guests?
We doubled the bombonieres with the place cards and had engraved glass coasters with the guests name, our names and the wedding date.

Where did you spend your wedding night?
We spent the night at the Manor in the bridal suite.

How do you feel now that your wedding is over?
Very happy and glad that I now get to spend the rest of my life as my soulmates wife.

Are you happy with your wedding photos?
We absolutely love the wedding photos, Cyrus did such an outstanding job way beyond our expectations.

Were did you honeymoon?
Baleka Beach Resort, Bali.

Advice for other planning brides:
Get in early so you don't miss out and so that you can allow for any unexpected things. And don't compromise on something that is your dream just to keep other people happy especially family, they will forgive you.

When you look back what would you have done differently on your wedding day?
Saved more money so that more family and friends could of come and to try and get the day to slow down so we could've taken more of it in, because it was such a smooth flowing day I probably wouldn't want it to change.
