Kristy and Neil - Interview with the Bride

What was the theme and colour scheme for your wedding?
Our theme was Beach because we live at the beach and it is just us. I choose yellow bridesmaids as its so bright and blue decorations to blend in. We used lots of odd shells, fish and sea gulls as our decorations.

What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
The guest list as we could only fit 130 guests in. Also doing the seating trying to keep everyone happy.

How many guests did you have at your wedding?
130.

Did you incorporate the Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue ?
Something old...my mum used some of her wedding dress to make me a fish for my wrist instead of a horse shoe....blue....my mother in law used her mums wedding dress which was blue to make a heart to go on my wrist too......burrowed my girlfriend lent me her shoes and a bag of goodies with bandaids, bobbypin's, hair spray etc to use from her wedding..new was my jewelery.

Details about your wedding dress and accessories:
Raw Silk GeeGee bridal design Australian made and bought in Bunbury. Shoes Havana Thongs comfy as. Jewellery and hairpiece was handmade I just sent Heidi an email of the brooches on my dress and told her what I wanted then said go for it. She did such a great job its a shame I cant wear them again.

How many dresses did you try on to find the one?
As for my dress I only tried on a couple and wasnt really fussed to be honest. I new it had to be simple as it was a beach wedding it was pretty comfortable but by the end of the night it was well and truly ready to take it off.

How was the perfection of curls in your hair that must have taken ages to set?
My hair was tonged and as I had clip in hair extentions we curled those before the day to save time.

What was the grooms and groom party attire:
The boys really wanted shorts but as it was the January before they started looking they fond it hard to get 5 pairs the same so they opted for suits and thongs.

What flowers did you carry?
I had lilyium roses and frangipani.

Did you receive any gifts from Neil on the morning of your wedding day?
Neil sent me 2 dozen roses with a card to the hairdresses it was really sweet.

Tell me about the running of the day what time did you start preparing etc?
We got up had fruit for breaky, went to the hairdressers, came home had some nibblies and got dressed it went so quick. The photographer came and had photos before with my parents.

What did your guests do after your ceremony while you and Neil went off and had wedding photos?
The guest's had pre dinner drinks and nibbles on the lawn outside the function centre it was beautiful overlooking the water.

Where did you go for wedding photos?
We had most of our photos at the beach at Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool then went into town for some with the bridge and trees.

What was it about your wedding venue that made you decide to have your wedding there?
We only really decided in November that we would get married in March or April the next year we found the perfect function center and booked everything around that. We wanted our wedding to reflect us and it to mean something to us thats why we choose Denmark and the beach.

How was your wedding reception?
We had a band they were awesome our wedding was the week after ACDC so they played heaps of their music and everyone rocked all night.

Describe the look and flavor of your cake?
My Mum made our wedding cake she makes the best mud cake in the whole world. We had 2 lovehearts with fish on them.

Did you make anything for your wedding?
I did all the decorating we bought our centerpieces online of sea gulls and fish in keeping with our beach theme.

What were the bombonieres for your guests?
I made our bombonieres using "blackwood river rocks" in a box with a poem as Neil proposed on the blackwood river.
