How long have you and Dom been together and when did you decide to get married?

We have been together 4 years and were engaged after 2.5 years.

What was the theme and colour scheme for your wedding?
The theme was Vintage Garden. Our colours were white, black and a touch of pink.

How did the theming of your wedding reflect your and Dom's personalities?
We are both very laid back and wanted our day to reflect that. My mum collected vases over a year, and my girlfriends and I did the table flowers ourselves to add a relaxed and personal touch to the setting.

What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
The hardest part was doing things remotely. We live in Broome so had to put a lot of trust in our vendors to make sure everything was how we wanted. Everyone we dealt with were true professionals and exceeded my expectations. I spent a lot of time stressing over things that I really didn't need to.

How many guests did you have at your wedding?
97.

Details about your dress and attire:
My dress was by Rosa Clara.

Did you have an idea of the type of dress you wanted before you went to the stores?
My bridesmaids came with me to select my dress. At the start of the day I told them "no strapless, no hoops, no white," which is exactly the opposite of what I ended up falling in love with.

When did you start looking for your wedding dress?
9 months before the big day.

How many wedding stores did you go to, to find your dress?
I found my dress in the first store I visited, but still insisted on heading to a further 4 stores to make sure it was the one.

Tell me about the running of the day what time did you start preparing etc?
The girls and I started getting ready at 9.30am. There were 4 of us to get ready and I thought we would have plenty of time, but of course we ran late and only just made it to the ceremony on time at 4pm.

Describe what happened at your ceremony:
Our ceremony was very short & sweet. We wrote our own vows which made it very special to us. Our celebrant had each of us tell her the 3 things we love most about our partner, which she incorporated into her final address. It gave us both a beautiful surprise on the day.

How did you decorate your wedding ceremony?
Our ceremony site Brookland Valley had a lovely bush background so we let the natural beauty of the surrounds do the work.

What did your guests do after your ceremony while you and Dom went off and had wedding photos?
We set up a bar at the ceremony site for our guests to enjoy a few beverages on the lawn before the reception for an hour. They then moved up to the restaurant for drinks and canapes on the deck before we joined them half an hour later.

How much time did you leave between ceremony and reception for wedding photos?
We scheduled an hour and a half. All our photos were taken around the Brookland Valley Estate to save time in transit. There were so many beautiful sites to pick from, we were spoiled for choice.

Why did choose Flutes as your wedding venue?
We had been for lunch at Flutes a few times before we were engaged. The food and service were always superb & the site had everything we wanted out of a venue. We wanted the ceremony and reception at the same venue, a beautiful view and to be able to seat our guests comfortably without cramming everyone in.

How did you decorate your wedding venue?
We had ceiling drapes, fairy lights and chandeliers to soften the mood, and had vases of fresh flowers  with tea light candles on the tables.  Our DJ set up some great lights against the walls which looked fantastic and created a bit of a party atmosphere.

What song did you have for your first dance?
Frank Sinatra - The way you look tonight.

What food was served at the reception?
We had a selection of canapes, a choice of seafood or vineyard tasting plate for entree, a choice of seafood, chicken or beef for main, and a choice of trio of cheeses or trio of dessert to finish up.

Best moment of your wedding day?
My favorite part was walking down the aisle on my Dad's arm and looking up at my future husbands smile. Surrounded by loved ones, I felt on top of the world.

What were the bombonieres for your guests?
Instead of having a wedding cake, we had boxed cupcakes as bombonnieres. They were white chocolate flavored, with flower detail and were delicious.

Your wedding photographer was Steve from Blakeney Photography what made you initially choose Steve and what is now your overall review of this photographer?
We compared Steve's work on his website with a few alternatives in the area and we liked his style and finish the best. After our meeting with the lovely Ros, we new we had found our photographer and signed on the day. We couldn't be happier with the results. The hardest part is narrowing down which pics we put in our album as there are so many that we love.

Were did you honeymoon?
We stayed at Kuramathi Island Resort in the Maldives. It was our absolute dream honeymoon. We ate good food, drank cocktails, went snorkeling and spent some time in the day spa. Dom convinced me to go on a fishing charter with him and he caught his first Sail Fish. My favorite part was the snorkeling trip that our friends bought for us. We were taken out in our own boat and had a whole day of the most incredible snorkeling you could imagine.

Now I am married I feel...
Excited for the next stage in our lives. We are expecting our first baby in January and couldn't be more excited.

When you look back what would you have done differently on your wedding day?
I would have been a bit more organized and relied less on our friends to pull everything together on the day. I had friends collecting flowers, setting up the ceremony site and arranging flowers on the tables. They were happy to help but if I'd thought about it earlier I would have hired someone to do the running around and let our friends enjoy the day.
