Michelle & Paul's Sublime Bunkers Bay Wedding
Interview with the Bride
We took 14 months to plan our wedding. We had 73 guests in total and only went a tad over our budget of $30,000. We decided not to have any children at our wedding.
Paul, the Groom, was fantastic in helping to organising our wedding . . . He helped with the music, organised the groomemen's suits and shoes and picked out their gifts. He also helped all along the way in picking which vendors we would use.
I started looking for my wedding dress about 10 months before our wedding. I just adored it. It had the most beautiful beading work and a stunning 'V' in the back.
We gifted out Bridesmaids their leggings and shirt, thongs, wedding shoes and accessories. For our Groomsmen, we supplied a bootle of Gentleman Jack, hip flasks and their wedding shoes & ties.
We choose to have our ceremony and reception in the same location, which was perfect. We chose the venue as we both fell in love with the location as soon as we saw it . . . . and the Function Coordinator was amazing to deal with.
Our Ceremony started at 4pm, with the Reception following at 6pm. Our guests had 'Toasting Drinks' supplied immediately after the ceremony and mingled and celebrated at the bar in the reception room, while we had our photos.
The reception was a traditional sit-down buffet, and the food was delicious.
For my bouquet, I decided to use silk flowers. I'm not a rose fan, so I chose small Calla Lillies . . . . I loved the look of them bunched together.
If there was one thing I'd change about the day, I would have allowed us another 30 minutes so we could have had photos in one or two more locations. But I still love all our photos.
As we had decided to keep our theme simple with elegant white, we selected white gladiator chairs and white lanterns for the Ceremony.
For the Reception we went with white table draping, tall vases, mirrors, crystal table scatters, tall white Calla Lillies with Baby's Breath.
The funniest story of the day was the Groom's speech . . . . he made everyone laugh with his mixed up words and off-the-cuff jokes that he was so proud of. Also, my sister went MIA and totally missed the Bridal Party Dance. Turns out she was just outside chatting to someone.
If I had any advice to give to other brides, it would be to allow yourself enough time to plan. Try not to let the small details matter, as noone will notice them on the day. Also . . . . we made sure that all our parents were thanked properly and sincerely, for all that they have done for us.
We went to Seminyak, Bali for our Honeymoon.
We found the Coast To Country Weddings website to be an invaluable resource - we used it to find inspiration via the Real Life Weddings sections and to get references for Celebrants and Transport.
