We had been engaged since 2012 but from booking the venue until the day we had 15 months.

Including accommodation for the week of the wedding be spent around $38,000. We didn’t set a budget to start with. We had 90 guests. Children weren’t invited except our son and the lovely little flowers girls.

I loved my wedding dress - I loved that it was simple and classic. I started looking for dresses about 8 months before the wedding. The groom wore a Navy Van Heusen suit, the navy worked really well with the casual feel of the day.

We had really classic flowers such as David Austin roses. We used lots of whites and soft pinks, to act as a foil against the navy. All of our décor was DIY – which we kept to a minimum. This suited the laid back vibe we were going for.

We made our ‘Save The Date’s ourselves and had them printed, but I ordered our invitations online.

We chose Yallingup Brook because it is so picturesque and it just felt really peaceful. The ceremony started at 3.30pm and the reception flowed directly on from there. The guests stayed out on the lawn while drinks were served, then moved up to the marquee for nibbles.

The most special element, was when our son walked me down the aisle towards his Daddy.

The only thing I would do differently is set a budget from the start so you can track how much you are spending.

We didn’t go on a honeymoon straight after our wedding. We used our honeymoon money to buy a caravan for a lifetime of holidays with our children,

Did you use Coast to Country Weddings (website, Facebook or other) to help plan your day?
We did use Coast to Country Weddings and I got a few more ideas from the Southwest Wedding Fair.
