Sara & Nathans Dunsborough Beachside Resort Wedding
Interview with the Bride
We started planning our wedding a year prior to our date. The budget for our wedding was $30,000 with 88 guests and no children. I will say this we stayed under our budget but there are a lot of costs (even just small ones) we didn't think of. For example - our accommodation for the wedding as we stayed for a few days, my spray tan, my shoes etc all those little bits and pieces.
Gifts for our wedding party - the bridesmaids received a clutch, anklet and bracelet and the boys an engraved hip flask as well as a flight ticket to Thailand for the bucks do (lucky boys).
I started looking for my wedding dress 9 months before owe wedding day. My wedding dress made me feel like a princess, I loved the fullness of the dress and detail on the bodice.
We chose the beach as our ceremony location because we love the beach. Our ceremony commenced at 2:30pm, it was the perfect time of day, not too hot and not too windy thankfully. The ceremony went for approx 30 min then we did the congratulations for around another 10 mins and then went off for photos.
While we were away our guests went back up to Ramada Resort bar to enjoy some drinks before the reception opened for pre-drinks.
In our ceremony we incorporated our two dogs, our dogs are our family and we wouldn't not include them.
Emma our celebrant was a real down to earth person, she asked us a lot of questions to get to know us and our story and delivered it well.
I had roses and babys breath as part of my bouquet. I chose silk flowers as I didn't want real flowers as I was traveling and most of the florists were booked out or pretty expensive to what I thought flowers cost so I went with silk flowers that looked amazing. Plus I didn't want the pressure of not killing them as I am terrible with plants.
At our recpetion our best man did his speech and as his toast he did a "Shoey"(skulling his beer from his shoe... a bit bogany but we wanted our wedding to be casual and more like a big party rather than a formal stiff affair. Everyone loved the "shoey" and had a good laugh.
My MC also did a "best wedding joke" where all the tables came up with a joke and read it out, the best joke received a bottle of wine, was hilarious some of the jokes they told.
