Table luminaries

submitted by Nicole Mallett

These tea light holders are like mini luminaries on the table. The ones I have made are to match the theme of the wrapping a vase, the top of the paper is vellum so when the tea light burns the light shows and gives the table a romantic feeling.

Materials
Scrapbooking paper (had left over’s from my vase so I used that paper)
Vellum paper
Double sided tape
Ribbon
Scissors
Ruler
Tea light & holder (alternatively battery operated tealights)

Instructions

Step 1
Cut your scrapping paper to 3cm high and 24cm

    Step 2

Cut the vellum paper 11cm high and 24cm long

Step 3
Cut the ribbon 24cm long

 Step 4

Face the good side down of your scrapping paper and along the top edge run the double sided tape along.

Step 5
Get your vellum piece and place bottom edge to the scrapping paper.
Step 6

Turn over and run double sided tape over where the vellum and the scrapping paper meet and stick your ribbon on the very edge of the paper, not to much over the vellum as you will cut the light down from the tea light.
Step 7

Now its time to attach the two sides of the paper (short ends) with double sided tape to make the luminaries round as in the picture.
Step 8

P lace tea light in holder, light candle and place luminaries over the top of the tea light and holder.

These make beautiful table centerpieces. If you want bigger just increase the measurements.

Remember: To place the tealight into a glass holder that will cover the tealight, if you dont they will catch alight.
