Sometimes it is REALLY tough to find a venue that you can see in your head but not in real life. Dreamy backdrops, lights from the ceiling, flowers on the window sills, bunting on the walls . . . . but you want it by the beach/in a vineyard/on a farm.
Look at this a-ma-zing Before and After shot of a venue in the Southwest that Wez Enterprises styled. It's of a community building that has definitely seen better days, but it's grass area leads straight to the beach. Stunning. And the inside? . . . not so much!
I found this photo in my archives and it made me realise something very important . . . .
. . . . Communication is EVERYTHING.
Talk to your stylist/hire company. Tell them which location you have found . . . they know them ALL.
Talk to them about what you would like;
* on the walls
* from the ceiling
* behind the Bridal Table
* at the entrance
* along pathways
A good stylist is worth their weight in gold as they can truly create magic. And this is because of one crucial reason - they know the limitations of the venues and hire sites.
* which venues won't allow hanging pieces (like flowers, lights, billowing fabric, etc)
* how much it will cost you to drape the walls
* the best way to cover an ugly ceiling
* the loveliest items to make the most of the view.
So my tip?
Although a stylist/hire company may seem like an extravagance especially if you are a DIY bride . . . . the truth is that they can save your sanity and just so much of your precious time.
Talk. Talk. Talk!
