Unusual Wedding Venues Southwest Western Australia

I was thinking last week, that we are SO blessed in the Southwest. We have such a long list of spectacular, unique and amazing places to celebrate marriage . . . wineries, old homesteads, beaches, farms. When you start to think about it, we’re quite spoilt for choice.

It made me start to wonder what TRULY unique locations we have here, and the list was quite long!

Caves . . . . we have several cave systems, including Lake Cave in Margaret River and Ngilgi Cave in Yallingup. Quite an incredible setting for a wedding ceremony – wouldn’t you agree!?! unusualvenues 8

Private Properties . . . . so, so many options with this venue style. Think olive groves, or an avocado farm or a wheat & sheep paddock or a shearing shed or a horse stud or deer farm. Oh – the options!!!

Using one of the amazing local companies that provide coverage - like a marquee or tipi or stretch tent, it really is only YOUR imagination that limits the possibilities. Such as . . . .

Wineries . . . . although we all know about wineries, we may not consider ALL that a winery can offer. For instance, quite a few wineries are now opening their Wine Curing Rooms as a potential site for a wedding ceremony. For many wine lovers, this seems like a truly wonderful way to tie the knot!

Trees . . . . Another quite unique - and utterly breathtaking - about the Southwest Region, is the forests & landscapes. Boranup Forest in Margaret River and the tall karri trees in the Pemberton region are the most memorable of backdrops for a gorgeous outdoor wedding.

Personal Locations . . . . How many weddings do you think still take place in a church? Not that many.
In the past couple of years here at CTCW, we have seen wedding ceremonies take place in a bookshop, at a reptile park, on a yacht, a cliff overlooking the ocean, at a heritage home, a pub and even a gift shop.

The truth is, as couples now find less pressure to marry in 'traditional' locations, many are looking at places that hold a special place in their hearts or histories. Places that were once a part of their childhood or will be part of their future.

So whatever type of wedding you would like to have, the Southwest region can definitely help you craft a unique, quirky and awesome day, that speaks volumes about you as a couple.
