Are you a local couple to your wedding location?
We are from Perth and love spending time in the country.
How did you met?
Met 8 years ago through mutual friends.
Why did you choose this region to get married?
Love the country and fresh air. Also this was a great venue (and the only venue that we could fine) that all guests could stay together comfortably in their own houses.
Who helped you to plan your wedding?
We have a great support of friends and family that helped us.
What was the theme & colour scheme for your wedding?
We stayed with the country/native colours, bringing in bursts of colour
What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
Organising the accommodation for everyone. Who is in which house with who and for how many nights - and how much alcohol to buy.
Managing and finding time.
Did you have a budget and did you stick to it?
We had a rough idea on how much we wanted to spend and what things would cost so we tried to be realistic about it all and do as much as we could by hand.
How many guests did you have at your wedding?
100.
When did you start looking for your wedding dress?
We got engaged in September 2012 whilst camping up north at Walga Rock and decided on the date in November so started looking straight away as we had 6 months to organise the wedding. I bought my dress in January. Jono bought his ties and suit in April, and shoes the morning we headed Down south!
What flowers did you carry?
Jonos mother is a florist so we came down with a few car loads of incredible flowers from Perth. Flowers were also sourced locally in the village which looked incredible against all the roses,
Nichola's bouquet - white roses, disbud, chrysanthemum, baby's breath, blue larkspur, statice and silver gum.

Details about your ceremony:
The ceremony was amongst the karri trees in the fresh air. The wooden structure which was the backdrop was created from the karri trees which had fallen. The macrame with the vases and flowers were by Jon's sister and mum. We had hay bales in position for seats with country style rugs over them. The groomsmen and their partners had the day before so we had a clean entrance in the forrest.
Did you say traditional vows to one another or write your own?
Our celebrant wrote a few words for us which we were really happy with. She asked us a list of questions and created some humourous and special vows.
What did your guests do after your ceremony while your wedding party went for wedding photos?
We served champagne and beer straight after the ceremony, then left everyone to mingle whilst we went and got our photos taken. People walked back to their houses with the other guests to relax before the reception.
Why did you choose your particular wedding venue?
We have family and friends from all over, so we wanted to be able to catch up with them over the whole weekend. It also made it so much more relaxing for us as we got to laugh all weekend and not stress about it all.
How did you decorate your wedding venue?
Our sister Kate hand made macrame which we hung with fish bowls of candles and flowers in. we hired wine barrels to fill the room up and hung small panadol bottles around the room. Our groomsmen Sam created the bar and wedding signage and our other groomsmen Luke hand wrote the signage. We had flowers everywhere at different levels and used the vintage cup and saucers from the village.
What happened at your reception?
Everyone was waiting around the fires outside the venue for us to arrive. After arriving through the human tunnel we all entered. Canapes were served, speeches started, followed by our friend Anna singing our first dance, then the band started straight after and everyone danced until the morning. We had a photo booth set up and pool tables to keep people entertained.
Best moment of your wedding day?
Weather held off for our ceremony. We had umbrellas but didn't need to use them. The ceremony was incredible.
So great standing back at the reception and watching everyone we love so much having a great time. Really special.
I would like to thank .... We had a vision of what we wanted our wedding to be and the main outcome was for our guests to have a great weekend and feel as comfortable as possible. With the help of our amazing family, bridal party and friends we transformed a rustic workers cottage into our dream wedding. We've never felt so much love and support.
Did you use Coast to Country Weddings to help plan your day?
Yes we referred to it to see how other people created their country weddings and also I love all the DIY tips and tricks.
