Interview with the Bride

We got engaged in February 2013 and married 23rd November 2014, which is about 22 months which was a great amount of time to gradually get some ideas together and pick what we wanted for the big day. We had 86 guests at our wedding. We had a budget in mind with some room to move, and we did go over by about $7000. It's all the little bits and bobs you purchase up until the wedding plus if you have unlimited alcohol on the all adds up.

I went looking for my dress the November before the wedding, purchased it, and it arrived in June! There was a lot of detail on my dress so it took a while to make. It was a beautiful sheath style dress that sparkled in the sun! Plus it was light in weight, I could dance, sit, and go to the loo on my own in it!

In my bouquet I had white lilies and white roses with some greenery in there! Stunning!

The groom organised car transportation for the groomsman...and that was about it haha! We got the girls some silk black robes with bridesmaid on the back, plus one for mummsy 'mother of the bride'. Along with some ballet slippers for the big night to dance the night away! No kids were invited, we wanted everyone to have a great night with a drink in hand! Let loose if you will! Haha!

At the ceremony, there was a reading from my close friend who meant a lot to me. After the ceremony while we went to have photos the guests just got stuck into the food and drinks, nothing too special was planned for them.

We didn't really have a theme but we did have some silver and white for cake, table decorations, and white ottomans. The venue was great for that, it has windows to view the vineyard and ocean so we didn't need to do much all. Nice and simple.

We had a cocktail style reception, we reckon it was the way to go! Everyone can mingle but with plenty of seating, Ottoman Benches, Elbow Bars, and long tables with chairs. The ceremony had a 4.30pm start, short and sweet, photos in between (Bunkers Beach, Shelley Beach, and a vineyard) while guests wandered up stairs to start drinking and nibbling. Reception officially beginning at 7pm. Welcoming the bridal party, straight into cutting the cake. Cocktail style food continuing to come out. Speeches 8.30/9pm then supper. Bit of dancing then bridal waltz. Next was dessert cocktail style. Dancing the night away till 12!

Speeches were hilarious! Lots of dancing! My Hubby spoke so well, he's not one to be centre of attention...we found out that there were 3 of our friends pregnant the night of our wedding! Very exciting!

Take your time planning and enjoy the build up to the big day! The night really does go fast, enjoy every moment! I loved it, I want to do it all again.
