Rebecca & Anthony's Wyndham Resort Wedding
Interview with the Bride
We started planning for our wedding in about December 2014, so we had about 8 months to plan. We didn't really set a budget because we didn't have a big wedding, we just did what we had to.
We gifted the Bridesmaid a beauty voucher and the Best Man got his personalised cuff links and a good bottle of alcohol.
We had about 70 guests including children, as we only wanted a very small wedding. We did invite children, because we have a daughter. We just invited her cousins and children of close friends. We didn't really need to do anything different to keep them entertained as they were on the dance floor having fun right from the start of the night, our DJ Mandy B played some songs from the movie "Frozen" and they had a ball.
I started looking for my dress a bit late it was March I went with my mum, sister-in-law and mother-in-law and made the choice In one day. I loved everything about my dress I felt like a princess.
I choose white O’Hara roses. I saw them in a wedding bouquet a friend showed me a picture of and I said right then that was what I wanted. They were simple but pretty.
We had our daughter and niece as our flower girl. They were so beautiful and because our grandparents have passed away we did a special reading for them as they would have been there if they could. Also we had my sisters and our nieces each do a reading to involve them in the wedding because we wanted them to be apart of the ceremony too.
Anthony and I went and stayed a few nights at the resort in November the year before, and went and looked at a few others places but the Wyndham had a nice relaxed comfortable feeling. We had a traditional sit down meal, because my husband side is Italian we added an extra course, a pasta dish.
We went for a simple black and white theme.
At the beginning of the year (2015) we went to the Wyndham Resort Wedding Showcase, the decorator WEZ Enterprises, were there and they had a book on all their designs and theme. We saw one design for the bridal party table and background that I loved and said that was what I wanted and just went from there to do the rest of the room and tables. WEZ enterprises were great to deal with and had a lot of helpful suggestions which made things a lot easier.
Anthony was really good he helped me in a lot of the decisions which I think is how it should be because it's not just your day it's both your day.
We organised canapés and drinks from 5.00pm for our guests and the best thing about having the whole wedding at the resort was so the guests didn't have to travel anywhere between the ceremony and reception.
The reception was just dancing and catching up with our guests. We did speeches but didn't worry about the typical games because we just wanted everyone to mingle and have fun.
It is stressful but I emailed and organised all my suppliers first and paid deposits to lock them in then during the months it was just emailing them to organise all the details. Because I live in Perth and we got married down south it was very hard to choose suppliers, but going to the whydham wedding showcase, from there we choose the photographer and the cake supplier, the other suppliers it was just asking around reading feedback on all he down south wedding pages and choosing for that.
I shouldn't have stressed so much because the day went perfect even the weather was perfect. And there were certain family members we didn't have professional photos with and wish we had of, but other wise it was a great day.
We didn't go on a honeymoon but we plan to go away at some stage.
Pete from Real Image Photography was so awesome and easy going which made us feel really comfortable with having photos taken, defiantly would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer to photograph their special day.
