Interview with the Bride
We gave ourselves 6 months to plan our wedding. We set ourselves a budget of $20,000, but did go over by $7,000.
We had 100 guests attend with no children.
Chris and I decided to pay all the items that our attendants would wear/need. We also purchase extra items, such as robes for the bridesmaids and a personalised flask for the groomsmen.
For my bouquet, I chose the colours of burgundy and white with greenery. White roses, peppercorn berries and I forget what the burgundy coloured ones were!
I loved how well my wedding dress fit my figure. It was everything and more than what I had imagined. I started looking for a dress as soon as our wedding date was set.
The groom, wore a blue suit and champagne coloured tie with tan coloured shoes.
We wanted a less formal wedding so we went for cocktail-styled reception. Our theme for the day was white, burgundy and greenery. Rustic glamour.
I tied all the colours in for both ceremony and reception through the flowers. I used rustic lighting as well to set the mood.
We had the ceremony at 4pm and we kept it short but sweet.
We had a special sign and spot for family members, who unfortunately were not able to be with us on the day. Our celebrant kept the ceremony light hearted and simple, and incorporated our sense of humour.
While we were having our formal photographs, the bar was opened up and there was a grazing table for our guests . . . as well as lawn games for them to play; giant jenga, croquet and quoits (ring toss).
We loved Edith Valley Function Centre due to the fact that we could have ceremony and reception in the same place and the venue fitted perfectly to the look I wanted for the day.
Our reception was a cocktail style so it was more informal, we had dancing, speeches, toasts and a good time!
My advice to other couples would be . . . . enjoy the process of planning your wedding. Don’t let the little things stress you out as it's your special day. So no matter what, it will be amazing and the best day! Take time to soak it all in and enjoy all the love and celebrating.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We haven’t been on one yet! But we are starting to plan one for June.
Did you use Coast to Country Weddings to help plan your day?
I sure did!
