Interview with the Bride

What was the theme and colour scheme for your wedding?
Pearls and Diamonds I like lot's of sparkle from the diamonds and elegance of the pearls.

What was the hardest part to plan for your wedding?
Not sure.

How many guests did you have at your wedding?
90.

Details about your dress and attire:
If I had to describe my dress I would say it was elegant and pretty, the satin material made it look elegant and it had a few clusters of Swarovski crystals and pearls which was very me.

When did you start looking for your wedding dress?
11 Months in advance.

Did you try on many dresses to find the dress?
Yes! I went to about 6 different shops and probably tried on at least 4 or more dresses in each shop.

Was your wedding dress comfortable to wear?
It was pretty good, however by the end of the night it was getting very heavy.

What flowers did you carry?
An array of pink Roses, Dolce Vita & My Girl.

Tell me about the running of the day what time did you start preparing etc?
We started getting ready at about 7.00am - 8.00am  I stayed in the house all morning until I was ready, I had no acknowledgement of what the weather was like or anything, I was too busy trying to keep myself together, I was very emotional.

How did you feel on your walk to your wedding ceremony towards Kris?
Surprisingly I was very calm and just taking everything in…….. my big day was finally here. I couldn’t wait to get the ceremony part over so I could give Kris a big hug and kiss!

Describe what happened at your ceremony?
I hopped out of the car and got a little emotional I started crying with tears of joy, happiness & nerves all combined into one. I composed myself and walked down the aisle with my Dad and I felt very safe, calm and happy.

Were did you go for wedding photos?
Yeagerup Sand Dunes – such a great decision made by my husband, the photos turned out awesome.

How did you come to choose Silkwood Winery as your wedding ceremony venue?
It was close to home, close to where we wanted photos & it is simply stunning.

What happened at your reception? 
My brother was the MC and he was very entertaining, as Kris & I entered into the reception he had everyone bopping their hands up and down, they all thought it was hilarious, he kept the guest laughing all the time. This followed by quite a few speeches, then we all danced the night away.  It’s really nice seeing your guest dancing and having a good time.

What food was served at the reception?
Entrée: was a choice of Pan fried Barramundi on a bed of salad or Mini Frittata encased in filo pastry served on a bed of salad Main: was a choice of Rack of Lamb or Pan Seared chicken stuffed with brie and spinach. Dessert: Choice of White Chocolate Cheesecake or Mini Pavlova smothered in cherries and cream.

Best moment of your wedding day?
The Kiss……..being embraced by Kris.

Describe the look and flavor of your cake, plus any other desserts that were served?
My sister made my cake and it was beautiful.  It was a white chocolate mud cake, very very yum! It was 3 tiers with real roses the same colour as the bridesmaids bouquet in-between each layer and a posy of roses on top.

Did you save the top tier for your first year wedding anniversary?
No.

What were the bombonieres for your guests?
Beer glass for the men & champagne flutes for the ladies with Kris & Emma 20th November 2010 printed on them.

Your wedding videographer was Supernova Video what made you initially choose Mark and how do you feel now that you have your wedding video?
I choose Mark because I had heard he was really good and I watched a friends video he had done and I thought it was fabulous.

Do you agree a video of your wedding really captures the day e.g. emotion?
Yes, I was hesitant to watch my video because I didn’t want to cry all over again. It is like going back to the actual day.

What have you done with your wedding dress?
It is still getting cleaned. Hopefully in a year’s time I will still fit into it. I would like to have a wedding dress party with my friends so we can all get to wear our dresses again.

How do you feel now that your wedding is over?
At first relieved to not have weddings, weddings, weddings on my mind 24/7, however I do really miss it. I love planning & organising things, I have since been helping a friend and sister in law with their wedding planning.

Were did you honeymoon?
The most relaxing place in the world – The Hilton in Fiji.

Advice for other planning brides
All the stress is worth it in the end. I would recommend using a good photographer or videographer these things are so important for great memories.

When you look back what would you have done differently on your wedding day?
Nothing at all, I was very happy with everything.

Transport: For arival at Ceremony we used a Chrysler 300 Series & 2 x SSV Holden Commodores and transport to the Yeagerup Sand Dunes we used 4 Wheel drives.
Stationery: My family is quite crafty so I designed and made all my own stationery.
Bombonieres: Mosman Glass – Wine & Beer glass with our names and wedding date printed on the glass.
Catering: Gloucester Motel Pemberton catered for our wedding they did a fantastic job.
Wedding decorator: My girlfriend Karleha Brown did a fantastic job.
