“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”
William Shakespeare | A Midsummer Night's Dream
On December 22, 2016 an incredible team of wedding professionals came together to create a wedding scene reminscisent of Shakepeare's "A Midnight Summer's Dream" . . . . with outdoor seating, a naked marquee, a sumptuous cake, an incredible bush setting and swathes and swathes of fresh flowers.
To say that it invokes images of a Tuscan wedding affair or a massive society wedding in the Napa Valley, is not an exaggeration. The attention to detail and incredible vista created by the talented team is purely and simply . . . breathtaking.
The gold tiffany chairs from Chic Rustique, were dressed with ivory chiffon and a deep red rose with the bridal table having a show stopper floral wall along the front. Cape Marquees installed gorgeous crystal chandeliers and fairy lights which looked truly amazing after twilight.
We wanted to provide a setting for both ceremony and reception which was romantic and luscious yet still look completely natural in the bush setting surrounding it. The bold colours of the flowers and tables invoke passion and love with the soft floaty material from the chairs, the crystal ware and soft lighting bringing a sense of elegance, sophistication and glamour. A raw and beautiful concept captured perfectly by John Rice.
The purpose of the photoshoot was to bring demonstrate what each of the involved collaborators could provide for a luxury wedding. We wanted to showcase an outdoor wedding set in a typical Margaret River bush setting that could be opulent and elegant, while also embracing the natural outdoor setting.
This natural bush setting was the reason Mr Barval Fine Wines was selected as the ideal property for the photoshoot. With beautiful big gum tress, a dam, vineyard, winery and a lawn area next to the cellar door suitable for weddings and events, it proved the perfect location.
The elaborate and spectacular 7-tier cake from Edible Art, was decorated with more luscious flowers.
The ceremony was set in the bush next to the dam. A rustic log arbour dressed with deep red and pink flowers and greenery with long flowing ribbons provided the backdrop for our couples along with oversized aisle arrangements sitting on log stumps. The bentwood chairs from Cape Marquees, finished off the setting perfectly with the gorgeous weather providing the most romantic light for the photographer.
The marquee was kept ‘naked’, so that the infrastructure could be covered with foliage and flowers. We wanted to create a giant luxury garden gazebo “Midsummer Night’s Dream” vibe to the setting.
The wooden exposed tables were adorned with luscious flowers, crystal and gold candelabras and candle ware, gold and blue crockery, bone cutlery, and a mixture of smoke and clear crystal glassware. Turquoise Table provided the simply divine table settings.
